Who's Shalla?
Hi, I'm an artist. Before I could walk, I was doodling on my grandparent's bedroom walls and anywhere I found myself with a crayon. Many referred to it as "destroying the house," I called it art.
Then in college, a classmate called my short story a "painting in words" and since then, I've been writing. (ie. as reporter for local papers, a movie/film critic, a script writer and producer of a cable show, magazine story contributor, etc.)
Now I'm composing chick lit, fantasy, futuristic and paranormal novels. My adventure? To get them published :)
(Isn't life exciting...)
Okay, so now you know me. Well, let's talk! Join the Shalla Blog. Come on, this is my first try at blogging and I'm guessing it's going to be lots of fun. By the way, I don't know how often I'll be here for now. I'm writing a multi-culti and a fantasy/paranormal novel with a chick lit tone plus writing articles and interviews published in newsletters, e-zines, websites, etc. and I'm tightening up my website www.shalladeguzman.com so, in other words, I probably won't be on here much for now. But we'll see. I talk a lot. Let's see if that translates to blogging a lot.
Right now I'm watching Peter Jennings on John Stewart's The Daily Show and they're talking about UFO's. They're talking about positive proof of aliens on this planet. Whew! Finally. I've always thought ET's lived among us. Don't you?
Sometimes I go to the supermarket or to the bookstore and think...Hmmm, that guy could be an alien. You just never know. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Sure, maybe it's just my wild imagination chattering away but I've used to wish to get abducted by aliens. Not by the types who'll perform science experiments, but the kind who'll say, "Come on, let's hang out at my world and I'll show you around the planet." Then I'll say, "Sure, can we bounce on clouds and slide down rainbows?" (Clouds remind me of cotton candy with a 'bounce.'
...oh that probably doesn't make sense but that's alright this is the Shalla Blog, my blog... woah! I'm liking this. I write as I think it and it gets published for gazillions to see, okay, there's always that possibility.
This is going to be zany. We'll talk Project Runway, the L-word, Tivo, meditating, Wicca, Psychic stuff, cats, dogs, MR2's, chick lit novels, multi-culti stuff, women's issues (pms, bio clocks, etc), paranormal, ghosts, ghoolies, fitness, health, exercise, modeling, my health and fitness show Body Beautiful, swimsuits, bikinis, charities, Angels of Hope, Wilm Weber the Magician, D. Miscellany, oil painting, charcoal drawings, comic books, true love, romance, my RWA chapter, my website...Shalla, Shalla, Shalla de Guzman... more, more and sooo much more!
Alright, welcome to the Shalla Blog. Oh one thing though, we'll stay rated G to PG13. Hey, I still watch cartoons occassionally and love cute, cuddly things and I like wholesome, nice words... well, thanks lots! Thanks lots!
Oh, who knows why? Maybe I overdosed on the denser energy stuff years ago. Or maybe it's all the meditating and aura clearing I do or maybe it's 'cause I majored in English Lit. but cussing like the f-word feels dense/thick and heavy to me --woops that's psychic talk. Let's hold off on that for a later blog. Suffice it to say my chick lit paranormals are going to be out of this world. LOL.
We'll talk interdimensional travel later. As for now, just know that my novels are going to export readers into marvelous, exhilarating adventures that will keep them begging for more. You'll like them. You'll love them.
Oh, Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber is coming March 12, 2005. That's chick lit. Jennifer Love Hewitt is gorgeous. The guy's cute too. Should be a good movie. Hey, in case there's anymore doubts, let me just say, chick lit's here to stay... okay, bye for now!
