Orin helps Shalla Write

Who' Orin? Orin is an interdimensional being of light. For more on Orin, www.orindaben.com
.
I'm soo glad I'm an Intuitive or Psychic. Actually everyone's psychic. I find that out over and over every time I do psychic exercises. (Here I found a link, I only scanned the page but this is pretty much it
Psychic Exercises)
.
For an easy guide to realizing and developing your psychic abilities I recommend
Psychic Development for Beginners by William W. Hewitt
Plus, if you're ready to open to good luck, what really works for me is
Creating Money: Keys to Abundance by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer. I keep a copy next to my bed. Very helpful.
.
How does Orin help me write?
.
First, I get extra-energy.
I do Orin's meditations for writers every day. I'm getting really good at walking meditations where, instead of getting into a relaxed body position, eyes closed, I can be moving, puttering around the house, listening to meditation tapes and reach that
higher state of consciousness. You'll know it when you get there, it's pure bliss.
.
Second, Orin fills me with power, the confidence that I can do anything I choose.

.
"You can accomplish anything, if you put your mind to it." -- Marty in "
Back to the Future"
.
"Manifesting" I tell the universe, I'm finishing all the interviews (13) in two days and they will be thought provoking and they will help/benefit everyone involved in creating it.
I trusted it will be done as I've intended. Well, I did finish, edited then sent them out.
.
I realize this Orin stuff isn't for everybody. But that's okay. Orin helps me and someone may benefit from her work too. Here's the meditation room I still visit occassionally
Orin's Meditation Room click on the meditation you like to try. These are very short, about 3 to 5 minutes. I can meditate a lot longer than that now (30 min to 3 hours)
.
Have a fantastic, great, terrific day today! I know my cats and dogs and husband and I are :)
.
Eureka! I'm putting Meditations for Writers on my site
www.shalladeguzman.com
Something like: Finding Your Muse, Getting Words Flowing, Writing Happily
That's fine, 3 to start with. It will play on RealPlayer. I'll figure out how to do it. I'll check
www.htmlgoodies.com for tips.
.
Writer Stuff I'm doing today:
1. Update my website, put frames (figure out how to do it then make it look the page simple but interesting)
2. Put files into my Yahoo Group
ShalladeGuzman:
Files like the interview with
Tina Gerow, (Just got a newsletter ask me about an interview submission, she's looking for one :) Gena Showalter , Judie Aitken (www.judieaitken.com), and Margaret L. Carter.
(I really enjoyed e-talking with these writers. They're all very talented and so nice.)
3. Schedule releases of Shalla Chats interviews on my Yahoo Group Calendar. Members can access it before the public. You can join us, if you like. It's freeeeee (I love that :)

Shalla Promotes Her Writing on SHALLA CHATS

Inspirational stuff comes to me everyday, like this one: To post Q&A interviews of pubbed/unpubbed writers, agents and editors on my website. And this is to be called "Shalla Chats."

Great, that solves lots of questions I had like: What do I put on my website before my novel's pubbed? How can I obliterate cyber land with my website's URL? How can I get something published now, easily and effortlessly? How do I find more writer friends/acquaintances online?

Answer? SHALLA CHATS. First I can start with interviewing pubbed writers about their latest projects. I thought my intention over until it was crystal clear: Promote other writers the way you'd like to be promoted. And always come from the heart.

Okay, that may sound syrupy. But hey, after 33 years on planet Earth, I've learned we've all got this cosmic connection. Karma's real. What I send out to others I'm basically sending out to myself. To be clear, I'm not being nice per se, because I'm afraid others won't be nice to me unless I do. I'm being nice because I look at others like they are me. I guess it's all about mind set.

Anyway, surprise, surprise, every writer I've asked likes the idea and I got a tremendous response. So much more than I ever expected. I LOVE IT! I've been researching and whipping up questions. I'm awake by 4 this morning, hardly ate breakfast, super excited to get writing.

Hey, I can write a good novel start to finish in a month, creating a dozen or so good, tight publishable interviews in a day's gonna be a breeze! (Okay, I believe in positive thinking.)

I'm also editing my website: www.shalladeguzman.com

Isn't writing fun? I'm sure it's not for everybody but I'm sure glad it works for me!

SHALLA CHATS will be a special segment of my website.

now on Word Riot: good writing, no remorse

*******

Okay, I realize my interests are wide and varied so for this blog we'll focus on my writing adventure. What's that? Well I'm writing a multi-culti novel with a chick lit tone.

What's a chick lit tone? To me, it's that hip, very contemporary way of speaking, like the way they do in Sex and the City where they say "modelizer" = guys who only date models; "Manhattanites" = people who live in Manhattan NY etc.

What's chick lit? It's the latest thing in publishing. It started from Fielding's Bridget Jone's Diary (single woman dealing with insecurity problems about her weight, smoking, dating toxic bachelors, etc.) and offshooted to chick lit on the edge like Desperate Housewives (a series on women's lives represented by characters like Susan, a divorcee with a teenage daughter dealing with dating woes. Now there's paranormal chick lit like Marianne Mancusi's Fashionista in King Arthur's Court and more are coming.

Jennifer Love Hewitt has this Oxygen movie this March 12 called "Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber." That's chick lit. Did you hear the trailer? ie. Looking hip, climbing the ladder of corporate success, she's in her window office complaining about a guy then says, "Why because I'm fabulous." Then she winks. Now that's so chick lit. It's a woman living her girl power. She's confident, has control over her destiny and doesn't have to act/look like she's driven by testosterone to succeed. She's all estrogen and celebrates it. That's chick lit.

Now there's also mom lit (so protagonist doesn't have to be single), hen lit (chick lit tone with protagonists on menopause), there's even lad lit (protagonist is a guy).

Anyway, chick lit's just that sassy tone. It's more conversational. Go out in the streets and you'll hear it. It's all around us. The media's finally catching on to this. I don't know if it started with the print media or TV but now it's every where.

By the way, for Jennifer Love Hewitt Fans:

And for those who like contests:
http://oxygen.com/specials/contest/Confessions/SocialClimber/

Well maybe next time we'll talk about other chick lits on TV like The "Gastineau Girls" and "Mr. Romance," a reality series about the search for the next Harlequin romance novel cover model starring Fabio. Which leads me to say, I think this reality TV success and the success of chick lit are connected, cosmically yeah, but more's going on here. Stay tuned!

To put it all together, I'm writing chick lit. Every agent I've pitched it to (around 12) requested to see it. Now, I just need to edit and finish it :)

Let's Shalla Blog

Who's Shalla?

Hi, I'm an artist. Before I could walk, I was doodling on my grandparent's bedroom walls and anywhere I found myself with a crayon. Many referred to it as "destroying the house," I called it art.

Then in college, a classmate called my short story a "painting in words" and since then, I've been writing. (ie. as reporter for local papers, a movie/film critic, a script writer and producer of a cable show, magazine story contributor, etc.)
Now I'm composing chick lit, fantasy, futuristic and paranormal novels. My adventure? To get them published :)
(Isn't life exciting...)

Okay, so now you know me. Well, let's talk! Join the Shalla Blog. Come on, this is my first try at blogging and I'm guessing it's going to be lots of fun. By the way, I don't know how often I'll be here for now. I'm writing a multi-culti and a fantasy/paranormal novel with a chick lit tone plus writing articles and interviews published in newsletters, e-zines, websites, etc. and I'm tightening up my website www.shalladeguzman.com so, in other words, I probably won't be on here much for now. But we'll see. I talk a lot. Let's see if that translates to blogging a lot.

Right now I'm watching Peter Jennings on John Stewart's The Daily Show and they're talking about UFO's. They're talking about positive proof of aliens on this planet. Whew! Finally. I've always thought ET's lived among us. Don't you?

Sometimes I go to the supermarket or to the bookstore and think...Hmmm, that guy could be an alien. You just never know. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Sure, maybe it's just my wild imagination chattering away but I've used to wish to get abducted by aliens. Not by the types who'll perform science experiments, but the kind who'll say, "Come on, let's hang out at my world and I'll show you around the planet." Then I'll say, "Sure, can we bounce on clouds and slide down rainbows?" (Clouds remind me of cotton candy with a 'bounce.'

...oh that probably doesn't make sense but that's alright this is the Shalla Blog, my blog... woah! I'm liking this. I write as I think it and it gets published for gazillions to see, okay, there's always that possibility.

This is going to be zany. We'll talk Project Runway, the L-word, Tivo, meditating, Wicca, Psychic stuff, cats, dogs, MR2's, chick lit novels, multi-culti stuff, women's issues (pms, bio clocks, etc), paranormal, ghosts, ghoolies, fitness, health, exercise, modeling, my health and fitness show Body Beautiful, swimsuits, bikinis, charities, Angels of Hope, Wilm Weber the Magician, D. Miscellany, oil painting, charcoal drawings, comic books, true love, romance, my RWA chapter, my website...Shalla, Shalla, Shalla de Guzman... more, more and sooo much more!

Alright, welcome to the Shalla Blog. Oh one thing though, we'll stay rated G to PG13. Hey, I still watch cartoons occassionally and love cute, cuddly things and I like wholesome, nice words... well, thanks lots! Thanks lots!

Oh, who knows why? Maybe I overdosed on the denser energy stuff years ago. Or maybe it's all the meditating and aura clearing I do or maybe it's 'cause I majored in English Lit. but cussing like the f-word feels dense/thick and heavy to me --woops that's psychic talk. Let's hold off on that for a later blog. Suffice it to say my chick lit paranormals are going to be out of this world. LOL.

We'll talk interdimensional travel later. As for now, just know that my novels are going to export readers into marvelous, exhilarating adventures that will keep them begging for more. You'll like them. You'll love them.

Oh, Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber is coming March 12, 2005. That's chick lit. Jennifer Love Hewitt is gorgeous. The guy's cute too. Should be a good movie. Hey, in case there's anymore doubts, let me just say, chick lit's here to stay... okay, bye for now!
