We were talking about the numbers, mostly—how did so many new writers even find these publishers?

SHALLA ON: Tips for Writing Newbies
Survival Tips for the Newbie
By Kristine Williams
As a writer trying to break in to the "real world" of published authors, I've learned some things that might come in handy for the newbies out there. Those just starting their dip into the pit of despair… I mean, the publishing pool.
One of the hardest things to wrap one's brain around is the submission guidelines. At first glance, the newbie is often scared right off. On second, third, and fourth glances, you begin to see through what's being said, and what they really mean.

SHALLA ON: Editing
Editing Made Easy
by Lee Masterson

So you've finally done it. You've finished your prized manuscript - the one you've spent months creating - and the temptation to pop it into a postal package and ship it off to a welcoming editor is tugging at you mercilessly.I urge you to resist that temptation. For now, anyway.

*
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
*

Bound Off wants to read your best short stories out loud!

We are seeking original literary fiction for our upcoming podcasts. Please send stories that are between 250 and 2500 words long.
Although we are an audio publication, we will evaluate manuscripts the old-fashioned way.

Our team of readers and podcast engineers will produce the audio version of your story. If you have the capability to create a high-quality MP3 file, then we could publish your story with you as the reader.
(Although we aim to give authors the chance to read their own work, audio quality is a high priority, so the Bound Off editors reserve the right to make all final audio production decisions.)

We are not considering the following types of writing: non-fiction or personal essays, poetry, stories for children.

One of the first things you will see happening is a new appetite for the day. A new appetite for living. And with this appetite will come satisfaction .

So how do you begin your life of renewed creativity? Here are some tips.
